Movie Slang:
Lewinskys – kneepads used by stuntmen
Honey wagon – Film crew’s portable toilet truck or trailer
$5 Fridays – crew puts their name on a $5 bill; deposits in a hat; winner drawn at end of day
Brodkin – extreme closeup; closer than a choker
Base camp – on location equipment trucks, food, trailers, etc.
The Abby (or Abby Singer) – second to last shot each day (Assistant Director announces it; named for efficient A.D.)
Martini – last shot of the day
Balloon tires – circles under actors eyes
Above the line vs. Below the line costs: Above the line = salaries of stars, directors, producers, writers, etc. vs. Below the line = salaries of crew, locations, music, film, editing, etc.
Key – head of a department
